Two '12s, David Rufful and Joshua Riddle, have formed a group called The Young Conservatives. As you can well imagine, the results are appropriately hilarious:

Highlights include "Superman that socialism / Waterboard that terrorism," and "Three things taught me conservative love / Jesus, Ronald Reagan plus Atlas Shrugged." The group has somehow managed to obtain widespread coverage in the blogs of the Washington Beltway, such as The Atlantic Politics blog. All I can say is, if this is the best the next generation of conservatives can give us, it's time to find an alternative to "progressivism" that doesn't rely on torture as a cornerstone of its ideology, and that doesn't assume the debate is won the moment you lump all your opponents into the category of "socialists."
